Installation Instructions for Survivorship Care Plan Builder 3.0
New Users Follow these Instructions
Before you begin, check your computer against the system requirements below to make sure that you can install and run the program successfully. It is also a good idea to close any open applications, such as Microsoft Outlook® or Microsoft® Word.
Please note: The Survivorship Care Plan Builder 4.0 will open Care Plans created in earlier versions of the program. However, you will not be able to open and edit Care Plans you create or save in this version with older versions of the program.

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS |

Operating System: |
The Survivorship Care Plan Builder runs on Microsoft Windows® XP, Windows Vista® and Windows 7. Make sure that you have the latest service pack installed for your operating system by running Windows Update first. |

NET Framework: |
The Survivorship Care Plan Builder uses Microsoft’s .NET™ Framework version 3.5 Service Pack 1. Most versions of Windows XP and all versions of Windows Vista and Windows 7 already have the .NET Framework installed. If your system does not, the installer should download it for you. Alternatively, you can find it at Microsoft downloads. |

Storage Requirements: |
The Survivorship Care Plan Builder requires 10MB of free disk space if the .NET Framework is already installed, and 290MB if it is not. |

RAM Requirements: |
The Survivorship Care Plan Builder requires a minimum of 447 MB of RAM for installation. |
|
Screen Resolution: |
The Survivorship Care Plan Builder requires a minimum screen resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels. |
Tip: On Windows 7 you can check your operating system, service pack and available RAM by selecting: Control Panel > System & Security > System
On Windows Vista select: Control Panel > System & Maintenance > System
On Windows XP select: Control Panel > System then the General tab
Downloading The Survivorship Care Plan Builder
Click here to download the Survivorship Care Plan Builder. Before you begin, you will be prompted to fill out a short registration form. We collect this information for the sole purpose of understanding how the product is used and improving it to meet your needs. Your contact information will not be sold or shared with third parties.
Be sure to note where you choose to save the installer. We recommend a location that's easy to find, such as your Desktop.
Installing the Survivorship Care Plan Builder
When you finish downloading the installer, locate the file named SCPBSetup.exe. Unless you specified another location, such as your desktop, it will most likely be in your Downloads folder. Double-click this file to begin the installation, and follow the prompts. You will need to agree to the End User License Agreement (EULA) to complete the installation. You can view the EULA here.
| When the installation is complete, you’ll see the icon on the left on your computer’s Desktop. You can launch the Survivorship Care Plan Builder by double-clicking this icon or by going to the Start Menu and choosing Survivorship Care Plan Builder from Programs. |
Note: In some practices, when users save their first Care Plan, they receive the error message, “Your Care Plan has been saved; however, you do not have sufficient user rights to save configuration information…..” This happens when the folder where the configuration file is stored is designated as read-only. Until you clear this error, changes to the Regimen Setup, Survivorship Library and auto-complete lists are not saved.
To correct this issue, ask your IT department to remove the read-only property from the following folder:
On Windows Vista and Windows 7: %ALLUSERSPROFILE%\NearSpace\Survivorship
On Windows XP: %ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Application Data\NearSpace\Survivorship
Current Users Follow These Instructions
If you already have the Survivorship Care Plan Builder installed, you may be notified that an update is available for download and installation. If so, follow the prompts to do so.
If you do not receive an upgrade notice, follow these steps:
- Open the Survivorship Care Plan Builder.
- Select Check for Updates from the Help Menu.

- You'll be notified if a newer version of the Survivorship Care Plan Builder is available. Follow the prompts to download and install it.
